Remembrance Day

Newsletter Week 6- Term 4, 2023

Last Saturday marked Remembrance Day, a solemn occasion where we honour the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month when peace emerged on the Western Front, signifying the end of World War I in 1918. Throughout the past century, this moment has been embraced worldwide as a time to commemorate the service and sacrifices of those who served in all conflicts. On this day, we remember the lives given in service to our country, those who returned injured, and those currently serving.

Many Gifts, One Spirit Award

Congratulations to our most recent Many Gifts, One Spirit Award recipients in acknowledgement of showing the school value of Diversity during Term 4, 2023:

Newsletter Week 6- Term 4, 2023

Sophie

Sophie is very deserving of this award because Sophie is an all-round kind student. I have many wonderful things I could say about Sophie and if I did we would be here for hours, but in particular about Diversity, she is always accepting of others. She celebrates her friends' achievements, cheers them on and most recently for Harmony Day was very complimentary to her peers culture and their wonderful cultural dress. On many occasions I heard her say how beautiful or awesome her peers looked. Well done Sophie. I am a very proud teacher.

William

Good Shepherd’s commitment to diversity is not just about recognising multicultural backgrounds; it’s about embracing the unique qualities, abilities, and gifts that each of us bring to our school. William embodies this spirit wholeheartedly. His ability to accept everyone is inspiring. He has fostered a sense of belonging. William’s actions speak volumes about his character whether it’s through his advocacy for cultural awareness, his support for individuals or simply the kindness he extends to all, William’s impact on those he has met, is immeasurable.
