Book Week

Newsletter Week 6 - Term 3, 2023 Newsletter Week 6 - Term 3, 2023

It's that time of the year again when we celebrate Book Week. As children read different books, they discover new worlds, characters, and ideas, fostering a deep appreciation for books that will accompany them throughout their lives. In a world of screens and instant entertainment, Book Week encourages our students to exercise their imagination. Through dress-up days and imaginative activities, they explore the worlds of characters, bringing stories to life in the most creative and delightful ways. The memories they have during Book Week are cherished for years to come.. I’d like to thank Mrs Tomazin for organising the week and to all our staff who enthusiastically dressed up. A special thanks to all our parents for dressing the kids up.

School value EXCELLENCE

We actively strive for excellence by providing opportunities for children to develop positive work ethics in order to achieve their personal best. Beyond academic achievements, we instil in them the importance of a strong work ethic, resilience, and a growth mindset. By nurturing these qualities, we equip our students with the tools they need to succeed not only in their studies but also in life

School Climate Survey

We are currently collecting information to help us make informed decisions about how we can improve our school. The aim of this process is to build and maintain a positive school climate in which your child/children will flourish. To help us in our efforts, we are inviting you to respond to the Parent and Caregiver Survey (PaCS), developed at Curtin University. Your response will provide us with the information and foundational focus points that we will use in planning our school improvement efforts.

Senior Leader Message

In this very long week of week 6, we have been very busy with activities like Performing Arts and Book Week! This Week the Year 5 Choir attended Catholic Performing Arts and sang beautifully. We would like to thank Mrs Reedman and the Year 5’s for doing an amazing job representing Good Shepherd. On Wednesday we had our Dress up Book Week and there were so many FUN and SCARY costumes. We all had so much fun at the parade taking photos and seeing all the interesting ideas everyone had. We would like to thank Mrs Tomazin and Mr B for making the parade happen!

THANK YOU

Our Book Week Dress Up Day on Wednesday was a wonderful day celebrating the love of reading and books.

I would like to thank all staff, students and the wonderful parents who supported this day. It would not happen without your dedication and support.

We are very blessed at Good Shepherd to have wonderful staff and students who dressed up to celebrate their favourite book character, fostering the love of reading and showing great community spirit.

We were very blessed to have Storytime with our talented storyteller Mr. Gaglia. The students loved it 🙂
