Swimming Carnival
What an incredible day we experienced at our swimming carnival! I'm truly impressed by the outstanding support and encouragement our students showed for their peers. Well done to Mr. B for his exceptional preparation and execution of the event. Thank you goes out to all the staff members who contributed to the smooth running of the day, as well as our dedicated parent helpers who went above and beyond.

Seniors Leader Message
Hi families and students,
What a busy couple of weeks it has been!
We began with the Ash Wednesday Mass and the start of Lent when we make decisions on what we are giving up as Jesus gave up his life for us. We were fortunate to have a visit from Koreen and Deacon Paul from Caritas who shared an inspiring story about how Caritas Australia helped a young women achieve an education so she could provide for her family. Year 6 also had a special guest called Lauren visit us from the Leukemia Foundation. She told us all about leukemia and how we can help people with cancer by doing the World’s Greatest Shave. We have had lots of students and teachers who will volunteer to donate their hair. The World’s Greatest Shave will take place in June, so stay tuned!
This was followed by an action-packed SWIMMING CARNIVAL! Good job to all the participants for trying their best and giving it a go. We would also like to congratulate all the students that got either champion or runner-up boy and girl in their year group! Well done FOLEY for winning the swimming carnival this year and a good job all the other factions who did their best and gave it a go. Thank you to all the parent volunteers, parents and family members who came to cheer us on. A huge thank you to Mr B, the teachers and faction captains for making the carnival such an enjoyable day for all. 🏊♀️🏊

Early Close
In Week 9, Monday 25th March, we have included an EARLY CLOSE of school at 12:30pm. This is to give all class teachers an opportunity to meet as many parents as possible during their Parent Teacher meetings. It is expected that ALL parents make an appointment with their class teacher/s either on that Monday or Wednesday after school during Week 9. The Parent Teacher Meetings will be of 10 minutes duration and will give class teachers the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and any school based assessments and observations. It is essential that you attend and support the school’s efforts to communicate your child’s progress, development and transition to their new year level. School finishes for all children at 12:30pm on Monday 25th March and we ask that families are punctual in the collection of their child/ren at this time. If you cannot collect your child at 1230 please make alternative arrangements for them to be collected or book them into Camp Australia Out of School Hours Care which is held in our school hall.
Information of the online booking system will be sent via SeeSaw during week 6 so please look out for the link to be able to secure the time that best suits your family.

Parent Reading Helper
Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles for Reading Roster
We would like to implement the Parent Reading Roster again this year as it has been an amazing success. It really benefitted the children who struggle with reading and do not always receive a lot of home support. This assists our students to ‘catch up’ by increasing their reading mileage. Therefore, we are once again seeking interested parents/caregivers/grandparents etc who can devote some of your precious time each week to listen to children read. These sessions will take place either first thing in the morning between 8.30 – 9.00 or at the end of the day between 2.30 – 3.00. You will be given some training in the skills, strategies and processes we encourage to foster independent, fluent readers and then allocated a class and day to share your wonderful gift of time. Once we have a bank of available helpers, rosters will be set up for the classes on a needs base. It is imperative that confidentiality is maintained at all times. If you are interested in assisting in this area, please complete the form below and return to the front office by Friday 8th March. We will be in touch in regard to the training sessions.
Kind Regards and thanks in eager anticipation.
