Prayer
Principal Message
What a busy last 3 weeks we have planned at Good Shepherd. Today we had a beautiful Liturgy hosted by PPB. They shared the message that they are children of God and when they need help, they can ask God, their parents and friends for help. The parents/guardians and grandparents then went to visit their classroom. Liturgies at Good Shepherd have been a wonderful new initiative which has seen younger children participate in an age-appropriate service.
Staff Professional Development Days
Regional Faith Day
Staff participated in a regional faith day on Friday 31st May. It was a wonderful experience for staff to connect with other primary schools in the Eastern Region. Father Elio Capra shared the importance of sharing scripture stories, and he demonstrated how staff can use art to teach scripture stories.
Berry Street Professional Devlopment
On Tuesday all staff were involved in the first day of Berry Street training. This is a 4 day Professional Development that staff will take part in over the next 2 years. The Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) equips schools with practical, classroom-based strategies to increase the engagement of all students, including those with complex, unmet learning needs. The teachers enjoyed learning new brain breaks and will slowly implement new strategies.
Year 4 Holy Communion
Next week on Thursday year 4 classes will participate in a full day retreat to help prepare them for their first Holy Communion. They will celebrate their First Holy Communion on Saturday 22nd June at 1:30pm.
Greatest Shave and Starlight foundation (wear purple on the 14th June)
Next week Good Shepherd will host the World's Greatest Shave. Fifteen students and two brave teachers will be participating in the event which will take place in the hall at 9:00am on Friday 14th June. The money raised will go to the Leukaemia Foundation.
God Bless

Seniors Leader Message
Hello students and families,
Last week we had the Indigenous Carnival where the students participated in either AFL, soccer or netball. Even though we got soaked from the rain, all the students had fun and showed great sportsmanship. It was great getting to meet some of the students from the other schools and having a community lunch with them. The Greatest Shave is coming up on June 14th. All participants are excited and ready for a shave or a trim! It is not too late to donate!
Mariah and Ethan.
