Lifelink Launch
A few weeks ago, Mrs Millard, myself and our two student leaders, Mariah and Ethan, were very fortunate to attend the Launch of LifeLink. The LifeLink organisation was established by the Archdiocese of Perth in 1994 to provide for the ongoing financial support of agencies established or assisted by the Church to assist those most vulnerable in our community. These agencies include: Identitywa, The Shopfront, Centrecare Inc, Catholic Ministry for People who are deaf or Hearing Impaired, Catholic Outreach, Emmanuel Centre, Daydawn Advocacy Centre, Emmaus Community, Centacare Employment and Training, and Samaritan Projects.
Cross country
What a perfect day we had for our annual cross-country event. I was extremely pleased to witness the great efforts all students put into completing the long track. A special thank you to all our helpers who made the day run smoothly. A special thank you to Mr B for all his wonderful preparation and hard work on the day.
Reports
Reports will be available at this stage from Thursday afternoon next week. When discussing and sharing these with your child, celebrate some strengths and growth and identify an area of focus for Semester 2. Please acknowledge the effort your child has put into each area, not focusing on the grade alone. A reminder that reports are all available through SEQTA or click HERE
Staffing update
I would like to inform our community that Ann Cutler has decided to retire. Ann has been at Good Shepherd Catholic School for 10 years and has worked in Catholic schools for over 20 Years. In her time at Good Shepherd, she has had such a positive effect on the lives of many staff, students and families. We wish Ann all the best. Ann has kindly agreed to stay on for the first part of next term to ensure a smooth handover.
We have successfully appointed a new Social Worker who will begin at the start of next Term. Please make Kaushalya(Kash) Raghwani feel welcome.
As you may have noticed Kate Purnell, our Year 6 teacher, is due soon with her first child. We have appointed Misty Waters as a year 6 teacher to cover Kate while she is on maternity leave. We wish Kate all the best and look forward to meeting her new addition to her family.
First Holy Communion
This Saturday many of our Year 4 students will be making their First Communion. This celebration is a significant milestone in the life of a young Catholic, marking the first time they receive the Eucharist. It is a wonderful occasion, please keep them in your prayers.

Free reading Packs for Kindergarten Students from Swan Libraries
Swan Libraries’ staff visited our school this week to bring every kindergarten student their very own green Better Beginnings Book Pack. Good Shepherd Primary School families may remember receiving a yellow Better Beginnings pack from your child health nurse when your child was a baby? Today your kindergarten child has received a Better Beginnings green reading pack from Beechboro Public Library. This free pack includes a beautiful book and fun activities that you and your child can do together.
There’s information from your local library, too, about joining (it’s free!) and the wide range of books, digital magazines, audiobooks and streaming movies that you and your children can borrow. The libraries run free activities for babies and toddlers, and primary school aged children throughout the year, even during the school holidays. By joining the library, you’re helping your children develop good reading and study habits which will see them well into their future studies.
Becoming a member is easy. Visit Beechboro Public Library, conveniently located at 332 Benara Road, Beechboro WA 6063 and bring some identification which shows your name and current address or click HERE to join and immediately be able to use the library’s digital resources. The libraries are on Facebook too, visit @SwanLibraries or @SwanLibraryCommunity.
